I have been interested in music since hearing the first song that I remember "You Ain't Noth'n But A Hound Dog" (back in the 50's). I started taking piano lessons at age 9 and quit taking lessons after three years. After that, I learned how to play the accordion and organ. In high school days, I switch to playing drums in the school's stage band, swing band, and marching band...lots of blisters on my fingers. Since then, I have been playing the drums at many jam sessions over the years.
The Cutthroats
Recently at one of the open mic sessions at Daman's Pub, I signed up for a time slot under the fictitious band name of
Who Dat Band
. Some musician joined me for the jam and we hit it off pretty well. We ended up starting a band. Undecided about what band name to use, we played under the name The Cutthroats. After several months of practicing and a few gigs, we decided to split up. I was still jamming at Daman's most every Wednesday until recently, when the new owners discontinued the open mic nights.
