When I think about writing on this topic, the line comes to mind. "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition".
I needed to vent that line, my usual fall back line when I have to
address potentially stressful and or frustrating situations.
Being that there are so many sites that can give a broader scope of understanding about the impacts of those conditions, and why they have been allowed occur, I will not go into it in further detail. What should be more of a concern, is the continuous allowance for them to occur. It appears that they not been enough of sufficient political/economic concern over the years. That brings to mind, if our governments at various levels are allowing this to happen, when will they get around to representing the general populous instead of "special interest groups". In jest earlier, I made the comment Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition. Our last top level administration was a pretty scary one. I really don't need to address that in any detail. There are many records available to support why I would say that. I can't help but think that we really cannot blame the people of other nations for having so little respect and appreciation for this country...that is probably an understatement. We are led to believe that that we have the greatest nation and that the rest of the world should look up to us. It seems to me that if we want to be looked up to, we should give a valid reason for it. It may be that the biggest opening for attaining the respect and appreciation of other nations is focusing our actions toward representing the needs of the general populous of not just this nation, but all nations, instead of desires of special interest groups. At every administration level, we need to focus on finding means for resolving the issues stemming from overpopulation, the changing climate, chemical use/abuse, etc. When I think of the term "the silent majority", it makes me think being that way allows for more free will of the "powers that be" to take advantage of our silence/ignorance. If our current civilizations continue at the present rate of progression or the lack of it, I feel sorry for the younger generations of today and their offspring. If you think the first decade at turn of of this century was scary, with all the terrorist activity, "wars", etc, it may be just a glimpse into a much more intense time to come.
